THE CURRICULUM:

Module 1: Ages 3-5

Learning to self-regulate through yoga play and breathe work can be achieved at any age. For real - even 3!  You just need the tools. Through this training all your questions and concerns will be addressed. What is the best environment to teach kids yoga? How do we assist this age group and how do I keep it from just being babysitting? We cover it all - age appropriate breath work, poses, props, books, music, partner work, games and meditation/relaxation techniques. 

*This training provides Yoga Alliance, 200 hour RYT certified yoga teachers 5 CEC’s

Module 2: Ages 6-10

This age group is high energy! Learn to be the catalyst for their creativity and individuality to shine through. Here we get into how yoga can challenge and engage kids of this age group in a fun, empowering and playful way. We will address age appropriate breath work, poses, props, music, partner work, games and meditation/relaxation techniques. 

*This training provides Yoga Alliance, 200 hour RYT certified yoga teachers 5 CEC’s

Module 3: Ages 11-16 (Teen/Tween)

This age group is so dynamic! Learn to be the catalyst for their creativity and individuality and uniqueness to shine through. Here we get into how yoga can challenge, connect and engage kids in a fun and empowering way. We will address age appropriate breath work, poses, props, music, partner work, games and meditation/relaxation techniques. This is also when bodies start to change so we will address gender and how to be sensitive in a yoga setting.

Module 4: Different Needs

This Training will help you teach to Different needs population. We will give you tools to address environment, repetitive behaviors positive reinforcement and modifications and adjustments that will be helpful to the student.

We will discuss different needs and how to make the most of the yoga experience. We will also address age appropriate breath work, poses, props, music, partner work , games and meditation/relaxation techniques.

This training is lead by Megan Velotta. Megan is a Certified Registered CY-R 200 Teacher with over two years teaching Different Needs Yoga and has a different needs child of her own.
